Processing
We are currently in the process of replacing recently replaced our Chinese full text records with improved data from an exciting new source. This change affects affected a large number of records and is likely to may cause query results to differ over time. It has also created a larger than usual volume of load-ids to be processed by on-site instances. The good news is that this reload will increase has increased the accuracy of results as the quality of data from our new source is vastly improved. It has also increased the speed with which translations are available. For Chinese records, English translations are now available one day after the publication date.
Improvements
The new translations are already present in all of our frontfile processing, and are being added to the backfile one year at a time, working backward from the present. Full text records are being processed first and we will eventually be filling in gaps for records that were unable to be translated previously. For specific progress, check the Translation Reload Status or contact support@ificlaims.com.
Improvements
These new translations have led to a number of improvements in the quality of data we provide, which means that your results will be more accurate, more comprehensive, and easier to read than ever before. Legal events from INPADOC are available to all CLAIMS Direct subscribers. Premium Plus subscribers get access to legal event data much more quickly because we receive data from our new source one day after publication date. The new data is provided in English and is much more detailed, including many events that INPADOC does not provide such as:
- name and address changes
- inventor names
- addresses
- abandonment of patent rights
- preservation of patent rights
- discharge of patent rights
- termination of patent rights due to non-payment of fees
- transfer of patent rights and patent application rights
- entry into force of recordation of patent licensing contracts
- gazette corrections

Several new elements are now available for Premium Plus subscribers including:
- Keywords: high-level summary words or phrases found in patent documents
- Statistical information: number of pages and number of claims
- Declassified date: date of declassification of a national defense patent or secret patent
- Administrative division: address element which designates provincial (region), prefectural (state), county, township or village level
