We calculate the patent status for EP designated states, and we are changing how we do this. Prior to May 22, 2017 we followed method 1, and on May 22 we are reloading these records in order to follow method 2.

| regulatory-extension | "Yes" when true. The field appears in US records when exploitation of a patent is delayed by regulatory review (eg, FDA review) or in other patents when a Supplementary Protection Certificate (SPC) has been issued for a patent. |
| terminal-disclaimer | "Yes" when a notice of terminal disclaimer is present. For US pre-2001, the adjusted-expiration date may incorporate a terminal disclaimer; post-2000, the adjusted date does not include the effect of a terminal disclaimer. |

Current patent status is calculated by sequential analysis of the Inpadoc legal status events. It is recalculated when an Inpadoc update is received.
